May fishing with Cast Away. What a nice month it has been for fishing, dolphin and Mantatee watching and just plain enjoying the good weather. As the crowds from spring break slowed May offers a much slower paced month. The weather gave opportunity for some great days out on the water here in Cocoa Beach. We had the opportunity to enjoy them with some great guests and had some pretty good fishing.

Catches include all of the smaller usual suspects like sheepshead, mangrove snapper, grunts, ladyfish, and puffers of course. But along with that some of our summer guests have been showing up like Atlantic Spadefish and cownose rays. In the past couple weeks snook have been all around and in season so we have definitely been chasing those particularly for the anglers looking for a harder more exciting fight. The live bait has been abundant which has made for some good snook days. Along with the snook, redfish, black drum, speckled seatrout and yesterday even a tarpon have been hitting the boats.

May fishing with Cast Away has been productive, of course fishing here on Florida’s Space Coast comes with weather challenges and slow days like fishing anywhere, but like they say a “Slow day of fishing is better than….” Check out our fishing Charters HERE

Dolphin and Manatee

Of course we can’t leave out the nature tours, we know not everyone is into fishing. So of coarse we offer out 2 hour dolphin and manatee tours. As far as the animals go, they have been everywhere. Dolphins and manatee’s have been abundant this years and many new babies of both have been seen on a regular basis. Some of our other sightings have been alligator, otter, bald eagles, osprey, roseate spoonbills and many many more birds.
