Here is the the current update

Fishing charter and wildlife tour update for the last few weeks has been a bit over due. I haven’t posted recently as it has been a bit crazy around here.

Well I say it all the time but “What a great time to be here in Cocoa Beach” but who am I kidding it is always a great time to be in Cocoa Beach or anywhere here on Florida’s Space Coast. The weather has been great with the exception of some gusty days but I will take that considering blue sky’s and perfect temps.

Fishing update, inshore fishing with Cast Away.

On to the fishing charter update. The past week or two has had some really great fishing and some really great guests aboard Cast Away Adventure’s vessels. That’s right I said VESSEL”S, the second boat is back on the water (see more below), back to fishing.

As always with fishing anywhere you are going to have some days that are slower than others but all in all a good bite the last few weeks. Catches have included snook, redfish, black drum, Speckled sea trout, jack crevalle, ladyfish, grunts, sheepshead, mangrove snapper, mutton snapper, lane snapper, shark, cow nose ray, and I’m sure some that I have missed. In the past few days the available baitfish in the lagoon has really picked up and with that the snook bite has as well. With all the available species the Banana River Lagoon and Port Canaveral have to offer there is always something to be caught. Want to join us on one of our Fishing Charters check out our Fishing Page.

Dolphin and Mantatee tours

For the nature lovers this is also a fantastic time. The dolphins and manatees have been very abundant and spring mating groups have been putting on quite the show. Other wildlife siting’s have included alligators, sea turtles, osprey, bald eagles, roseate spoonbills, wild boar, racoons foraging for shellfish as well as many of our abundant heron’s and egret’s. Whether you are joining the fisherman in your family or just want an afternoon on a boat looking for wildlife Cast Away Adventures has a trip for you. Update: Second boat is back and running!

As I mentioned above our second boat is back on the water. For some of you that have been out with us before you know all about the second boat not running for a bit after Capt. Sue had to stop working the boat. Enter Capt. Jimmy, Jimmy has been working part time and has now come aboard full time. His love of fishing and local knowledge make him a great fit! We put a brand new Suzuki 150 on the second boat and are ready for a great summer. Now we can handle groups larger than 6 (split onto to boats, think fishing tournament with family) as well as have more availability to get more groups out that I was having to turn down.

We are currently working with the online booking service to update the slots for second boat but it has not been a quick process. So if you go to our online booking and see the slot you are looking for give us a call, I may still have availability.

As always thanks to all the great guests that have come on the boat with Cast Away Adventures, can’t wait to see you again. And to all the folk I have not had the pleasure of having on our boat Give Cast Away a call at 321-431-7850 or Book right from our website www.castawayfl.com. Remember “Cast a line, don’t stand in one!”.
