Late July fishing

So How has the fishing and dolphin tours been here in Cocoa Beach during late July. Well of course it is always fishing, as the old joke goes “that’s why the don’t call it catching”. But no seriously it has been all in all some good fishing. Sure there has been some ups and downs but some really great fish have been hitting the bait and the boat.

On some of the days there has been a lot of searching for the bigger stuff. That is fishing. But we have a beautiful lagoon full of wildlife to see while we search. I love to be on the water so that is part of the fun for me. We have been catching many of the smaller varieties like grunts, snapper and sheepshead to keep us busy while looking. Not to mention some stud mangrove snapper have been hitting the boat. The redfish bite has not been great in our area but we are seeing snook (my personal favorite) and some keeper trout hitting both live pogies and shrimp. Along the way we are hitting some of our fun but not eating fish like Jack Crevalle and lady fish, always a good time and put a bend on the rod.

Dolphin and Manatee tours

For the wildlife lovers dolphin and manatee have been abundant. I am not sure if I have ever seen as many babies as this year. Of course the plethora of birds here in Florida are always around, but we have been seeing alligators and Otters (my favorite) as well.

At the end of the day, every day on the water is a great day. I have been blessed with opportunity to spend so many days on the water with so many great people from all over the county, or world I should say. Give us a call for a great day on the water for you and your family or friends.
