Cocoa Beach’s best dolphin and manatee tour.
What a great time of year to get on the water and enjoy Cocoa Beach’s best Dolphin and Manatee tour. Cast Away Adventures has been cruising the waters of Cocoa Beach since 2013. We love our time on the waters here on Florida’s Space Coast and would love to share it with you. Enjoy a 2hr relaxing ride aboard our 26 foot partially shaded deck boat. The waters of the Banana River Lagoon are calm, so no worries of sea sickness. Even better they are teaming with local wildlife. Join us for the chance to see dolphins, manatees, countless bird varieties and so much more. You may even get to see some alligator, otters or wild boar.
What have recent dolphin tours been seeing?
The wildlife here at the end of August has been plentiful to say the least. The dolphins and manatees have been everywhere and babies of both specie have been a regular sighting. There also have been mating groups of manatee putting on quite a show, the most active you will see them.
While the dolphins and manatee are a regular sighting on Cast Away Adventures dolphin and manatee tours, there has been more. In the past few weeks we have been seeing a good number of alligator, and few wild boar on the shorelines. Bald eagles seem to be returning from their summer locations and the countless other species of birds are too many to list. Here on Florida’s space coast you just never know what you will see.

Are we guaranteed to see Dolphin and Manatee?
Well of course we can’t guarantee sightings of wild animals on our tours, we have lots. Dolphins are definitely a daily sighting. Manatees as well this time of year, the colder month many leave for warm water. Though it is good to remember, these are wild animals in their natural habitat (the way they should be). That being said, you can never guarantee wildlife, but the chances are high!
What should we bring on the dolphin and manatee tour?
While we provide the boat, a knowledgeable Captain and a cooler with ice. There are few things we recommend to make your dolphin and manatee tour even better.
- Sunblock, always a good idea here in the sunshine state.
- Sun glasses, polarized are best for seeing wildlife.
- Food and drink, what ever you like but water for sure and it can go in are cooler. Alcohol is fine for anyone 21 and over.
- Camera to capture the memories.
- Smiles! Remember you are not at work, your on a boat in Florida.
Do we offer tours other than dolphin and manatee tour?
Of course we do. One of the things we love the most is fishing the waters of florida. We offer 2 hour and 4 hour fishing (most popular) for anglers of all experience levels. Never touched a rod no problem, we are here to teach. We have around 40 species of saltwater fish in the lagoon and get to see all the wildlife while we fish. Its like a 2-4-1!

Rocket launch viewing

Lets not forget this is The Space Coast and a lot of rockets are lifting off. Between SpaceX, ULA, BlueOrgin and the Space Force Command there always seems to be a rumble. From the water on the lagoon we get one of the best views you can. We can see the smoke and fire on the pad at the time of lift off and the rocket shoot off to space. Also when SpaceX lands the first stage on its land based pad, we get a fantastic view of that as well.
If you want to keep up with current and upcoming launches check out a APP called Next Spaceflight. It is by far the most detailed and up to date we have seen. Or give Cast Away Adventures a call for more info on launch viewing trips.
